Should I cut back the thick trunks ?

I repotted this after separating it as it has 7 plants in this pot. Now I'm wondering if I should have cut some of the long trunk off as it climbs out of the pot like crazy . I've seen videos of people sawing off the bottom portion of the roots and replanting just a small stump. Is this possible with this ? How do I add a photo ? Thanks kindly

find the proper latin name.. then add 'propagation'.. then search out videos of the process ... you can probably root the top.. and rejuvenate from the roots and short trunk ... whether late fall is the best time to do this... is also an issue..

the bare trunk could be normal..over the years.. or an indication of lack of proper light.. do your plants otherwise thrive in what looks like in interior corner??
