You’re going to need a local firm, so where are you?

A lot of the designers in my area have 5-figure $ project minimums. Is your area similar? Perhaps a good staging firm (recommended by a real estate agent) would be a good fit for your project?

I agree to look for a good stager. If you know any real estate agents you might ask for their recommendations. Most stagers are focused on prepping a house for "typical buyers''', so you'll need to communicate you want to please yourself not get a living room that looks like a Pottery Barn catalogue. Hopefully they can switch mindsets a bit.

I'm in Dedham, MA...and thanks for the suggestions of a stager; I'll explore that option.

Watch old reruns of "Sell this House"

It uses the concept of how to use just paint and your own stuff to re-do a room...or a house.

It's an old show...the colors are dated and Roger tends to go overboard with sheets as tablecloths and curtains. He also likes to keep all the window coverings closed. Ugh.

However--- the original concept never goes out of style.
