I just did my own research on sinks for the kitchen being remodeled. We currently have a composite sink, it looks dirty all the time and (being dark) looks dirty when it isn't. I'm getting black leathered granite countertops and considered black stainless, but found out that was a coating that scratches off, so it was out. So I am going with stainless, and because I hit a great sale I will have a sink with grates on the bottom, which are said to reduce scratching. I think of stainless steel as a neutral in my kitchen, so I feel free to have my faucet be polished nickel.

I'm very happy with my SS sink by Krause. Yes, there are some marks on the sink, but they don't affect the functionality of the sink and the SS still looks good.

99% of my clients choose stainless. It scratches to itself, and matches some appliance already in the kitchen.

I have Blanco Silgranite sinks in my kitchen, laundry room and outdoor kitchen and think they are great. To me they are much nicer looking than a stainless steel sink. No isssues in 7.5 years. I will be buying them again for the house we're planning to have built. The one in the kitchen is Anthracite.
