M

e and my husband have conflict in deciding cabinets in the fridge wall

Here are the two options

option1

option2

I believe having multiple cabinets on the left side add more detail instead of it being simple plain wall.

More details

1. The fridge is going to a sub zero classic 48" standard install. We love the quality of this fridge hence got it.

2. The oven will be wolf transitional model.

3. The cabinets are going to push open

4. The house is modern style while walls and black windows.

5. The fridge wall is 9 feet 6 inches tall

I open to move configurations

The fridge is 48" wide, Oven is 30" wide and rest of the is 54" wide

The position of fridge is fixed since its closer to island where we want it, rest can be moved

Where will you put the hot food you take out of the ovens or where will you put the grocery bags to put food in the fridge?

I need to see the whole plan but I see no island so the question about landing space is a great one. I rarely like a fridge and oven SxS I do like fridges and pantries on one wall but the pnatries I like most are true pullouts no 2 ft.-3 feet deep with shelves and I don't like pullout shelving behind doors . Post the rest of the spac eher ein pics DO NOT start another post . Then you will get some good help here from pros . BTW I sure hope you ar eusing a independant KD not some cabinet salesperson .

I have a wall similar to this, but I have an island nearby. Since you didn't post the whole floor plan I don't know if you do or not. My oven is next to my frig and neither has dented the other in over 25 years. I suppose it is possible, and maybe it is due to the type of handles I have (curved and rounded, no sharp edges), but it hasn't happened. I think three 18" cabinets next to the oven would be good, if two of them open to a 36" wide pantry (similar to what is shown below). Are you going to have pulls, but they're not shown on the rendering?

What's behind Door #1? (the door between fridge wall and stove wall). If it's a pantry, you can probably use Lomo's suggestion of ovens on the left and a counter in between. If it's a mudroom coming from the garage, probably not.

While you're in the design stage, the base cabinets on the stove wall should be all drawers (all base cabinets, for that matter).

I also agree with Patricia about deep pantry shelves. My previous kitchen had one set of tall cabinets 20" deep, with specific purposes for each component. My other tall pantry cab was 12" deep (though 15" would have been OK too).

The very best way to determine what kind of cabinets you need, and where, is to develop a storage plan. Figure out in advance where you will out EVERYTHING in the kitchen, concentrating on placing things near their point of use, like pots and pans, spices, oils, cooking utensils, and potholders near the stove; cutting boards, knives, and colanders near the sink; a place for baking sheets, casserole dishes, pie plates; bags and wraps, towels, leftover containers, small appliances. Decide what (if anything) will sit out on the counter, and where. Use "prime real estate" for things used often, and relegate the big punch bowl to a top shelf (or another room). Do you want a junk drawer? Will you be charging phones or tablets in the kitchen? Plan for that now.

The fridge is entirely in the wrong location, if it's not a straight shot from the aisle. No one wants to play ring around the island obstacle every time they need a bit of butter or a carrot. It needs to go where you show the #20 cabinet. And the kitchen would work far better with a range than a cooktop and ovens.

Fridge should be next to the sink/dishwasher. We take food out of the fridge, bring it to the sink to rinse and then prep between sink and cooktop.

SZ is having 18-24 month lead times. Are you prepared for that? It is a great product, but dealing with their current logistics is just crazy.

Yes, the fridge needs to move to where it is accessible
