OT - Happy Halloween! (almost)

My DH started putting this guy up by our front garden gate, during covid, and we put the candy out with him. We have the kids come up to the door now, but every year my DH keeps making this guy. I like him - among the roses.

    It was a dark and stormy night... or perhaps it was a bright crisp Fall afternoon on the 31st of October a few decades ago not unlike today, we came home to a bat hanging over the front door.

    It hung there like a Halloween decoration as we ran in and out the door, ducking our heads hoping it wouldn't fly at us.

    No trick-or-treators came for candy that year. The bat was the only strange visitor, it was gone the next morning - odd coincidence.
