Reviews on Cabinet Joint RTA Custom Cabinets.

last year

I am looking for feedback on cabinets from Cabinets Joint. I am thinking of ordering custom cabinets from them - and wanted to know about the quality, lead time, pricing and overall experience working with them. I looked at some local places for custom cabinets and trying to decide which way to go.

We bought our kitchen cabinets and later matching fireplace base cabinets, and just recently our sons kitchen cabinets through them. Highly recommend them! The sales staff are very helpful in layout, the conestoga cabinets are good quality, and the video tutorials for putting together the cabinets make it easy.

Lisa, your kitchen is beautiful. I am also considering the sister company for assembling the cabinets. Just worried about transporting them, since they are going to be fully assemble including doors.

We had no issues with transportation of the assembled cabinets, I would just watch out if you have something like a corner cabinet that may be hard to fit through a door. My contractor just took off the drawers and doors during install and then put them back on.

Were the cabinets all wrapped? Did they stick to the initial estimated lead time? How long did it take? and long long was the assembly?

the cabinets came with cardboard on the fronts to protect the wood. at the time we ordered last year lead time was 12 weeks and they got here by then. I think lead time is much shorter now. Assembly took 3 days after the pieces were delivered to the site.

Buying RTA and having them assembled before shipping comes under the heading of burning money for zero benefit. If you do not feel confident in DIYing your whole job, then you need to look closer to home, with non RTA already assembled cabinets, and dealers who offer installation services.

Some dealers in my area, even the custom cabinets makers don't want to install the cabinets. I don't have a problem with installation, just want to make sure its properly assembled and good quality.

You can scribe an extended stile to a wall and the 1001 other little specialty tricks and doings of custom cabinet installation, but are scared to assemble them? Makes no sense. Watch the videos. You hugely increase the freight costs to ship assembled. Conestoga makes great cabinets. High end. You can get a 100K kitchen for maybe 75K. But you will earn that 25% discount with your own sweat equity. Or you will pay it to someone else, Which is crazy, because the whole point is to DIY RTA. If you aren't going to do all the labor here, and pay other people, then look much closer to home for something like Omega, Plato, William Ohs, etc. Keep it under a single umbrella instead of a million chances to point fingers at all involved.

I am mostly concerned about the quality and timelines. I did get a price quote for assembly and shipping, and it was quite high, and not worth it.
