In need of modernizing

The exterior of my little house is boring! It is in need of being modernized. I like a black roof(and really prefer white siding), would like to replace the stoop with a porch with a roof......what do you envision? (the doors are new, but haven't been painted yet)

It's not boring but a lovely home. Only trouble is right now it looks like it might be 2 separate dwellings. Punch up the front door a bit. Big house numbers by the front door?

I'd paint the front door a color that pops and then the door by the garage (and garage doors) a color that fades into the background.
