Where do I end my kitchen backsplash?

Need your help!! We are renovating our kitchen and don’t know where to end our backsplash 😭 Our problem is that we have upper and lower cabinets that don’t line up perfectly.

We extended the backsplash to match our lower cabinets for one side of the wall (see 1st pic).

However, we have another set of cabinets with an even bigger gap and not sure where the best place would be to end the backsplash (see 2nd pic). What should we do?!

The first pic I would not have done a backsplash there at all it is not needed. I need to see the rest of the sapce to help there and you need to post those pics here after the counter is in since the backsplash goes in after the counter . Postt hose pics here in a comment DO NOT start another post.

It’s awkward, for sure. I think I would do as you’ve done with the first one and end it with the lower countertop. I think it would be very odd to end it with the uppers. If you had a tile backsplash, you could probably end with either and be ok.

I agree with Patricia C -- no backsplash in the area that is the first pic.

The backsplash should not be more than 4" high in this case and be the same width as the countertop.
