I still have a few transplant tasks. Need to plant some salvias, autumn joy sedum, grape sensation blanket flower and others in ground. And cleaning to do.

Grief, still got loads to do cos I have been distracted by kitchen doings. I did plant a heap of hesperis and foxgloves in my local cemetery (easily done on the twice daily dogwalks) but have neglected the garden and allotment. Everything seems a bit stuck in a holding pattern at the moment - no frosts to speak of so the late summer plants are still doing their utmost to bloom, while watering pressure in the greenhouse has subsided, so I have found it appallingly easy to ignore the many, many seedlings in various degrees of disarray.

The marmoleum finally arrives on Monday so weeks of prinking, faffing and generally gussying up the kitchen will climax with the horrible tasks of ripping up the old floor. I am dreading this, tbh as I am relying on my boys being obedient and co-ordinated (not their usual states of existence at all). Sweetheart is exempt from this as whenever I give him a resentful sideways glance, the inhalers come out and I am mortified (again). I have not decided whether to apply my maternal power with affability (and humility) or to twist the psychological thumbscrews (usually guarantees speedier, if less perfect results). Either way, they are easily bribed with cake so am going to knock up a lemon drizzle and date and walnut loaf to fortify slackers, whilst I can still use the kitchen. The planting can easily wait for another week or so....or spring.

Congrats on the planting! It does feel pretty good when it's all done, and I hope to experience that someday this year.

Zero progress, although maybe it was silly to chose a bit of lawn for the tulip plantings and expect to make a new bed before getting them in. Oh well ;)

I never did see a good sale on bulbs so I didn't add any this year. I am really done with the garden. Well, not actually, but I have done all the priority items. I still have a few plants that I dragged in the basement in pots when it was supposed to freeze. but some of them should end up in the compost bin and I have a couple of diivisions of Sedum AJ and nowhere to put them. I have enough. I should have given them away.

Rainbarrels are all put away. Waiting for all the leaves to drop to finish that up and do the gutters. I would be happy to just wait for spring to start a new season and go from there. I still want to construct a few lasagna beds. I have plenty of material to use. A couple of warmer days and I will probably do that before I'm all the way done.

I'm just ready to turn my attention indoors.

Me too, mxk3...or will get the offspring involved. I have been taking a few photos as work progresses, although, after hanging out on the kitchen forums, I am slightly reticent. I gather there are a lot of professionals on there who, understandably, argue for this and that upgrade/technique/gadget - all of which are eye-wateringly expensive. I admit to spending sod-all apart from screws, sandpaper and some paint (apart from the floor covering) and basically knocking up a coupla more shelves, painting absolutely everything and making new curtains and sofa coverings and a whole heap of cosmetic faffing. Not a sniff of the kitchen forum triumverate of granite, cherry, stainless steel...or whatever quartzite is. My worktops are still the old pitch pine boards I dowelled together, years ago (although they do get the odd sanding and re-oiling) while the sink was installed in 1963.

I had to lie on the bed to do my zip this morning - result of eating large amounts of cake. I did put my workboots on. In hope more than expectation as I am still sitting on the sofa at lunchtime, so another day of garden neglect looms.

Mine is done as well. My big project was actually planting up the garlic beds - my original one, plus a new one at another community garden plot. I had done the majority of my shifting of plants in my perennial garden earlier in the year, so just had small tweaks when fall hit. Almost didn’t plant any new bulbs as there were hardly the amount of bulbs (and bulb sales) as in previous years, but finally went to Home Depot and they had a bunch at 50% off so I figured I’d give that a go. Nothing too spectacular in the lot, but at least I got something in the ground. So all the major stuff is done - now just the small moving stuff and clean up remains.

@LaLennoxa 6a/b Hamilton ON, yeah we got the garlic in ground a few weeks ago and now a lot have germinated. That reminds me, I still have some fall sowing of annual and perennial seeds. I sowed some Orlaya seeds and a lot have germinated but most were probabaly eaten or stumped on by animals. Only 3 are left. I ordered a new batch and will sow in pots this time. Will sow poppy, larkspur and other seeds as well

Just planted a Haas Halo hydrangea yesterday and 2 Giganteum allium bulbs today

The tulips are in as well as the garlic. A few cannas and dahlias are dug, but more await. I found a few more pots which need to come in, but the last perennials are still unplanted. I met up with a couple friends, and that didn't help. They had even more plants to gift away. Perhaps they were cleaning out their own pot ghettos lol.
