Hello! We have a one sided fireplace, which divides the living room area from the dining area. We will likely be moving to a larger home within the next few yrs, so I'm trying to decide how to best update the fireplace without spending too much money. I'm thinking we should replace the mantel and will definitely be removing the brass doors and replacing with a screen of some kind. My husband is against my painting the fireplace, though, I was considering whitewashing it, to lighten it up a bit. Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
