I did this in my previous house, which was a Spanish style house in LA. I actually remodeled 5 bathrooms in that house!

I described my ideas/vision as "Modern Moroccan". I tried to keep the designs simple with cleaner lines, but still tried to add pattern/colors/decor that had a Moorish/Spanish feel to them.

How about using a funky/modern wallpaper that complements the tile color?

Not necessarily these patterns/colors, but look outside of your comfort zone for something unique.

The ceiling is not what needs lighting so start with a light that lights the space use LED 4000K to elinminate the yellow you see now . I am not sure about wallpaper with those tiles .. I do not see any cabinet so maybe one more pic posted here in a comment DO NO start another post.I am not sure why that wall color but maybe in the new lighting it will make more sense . I think a mirror with a heavier frame might be good.

I would like to find a cabinet similar to the size of current one. Wondering if nickle fixturees would look good with nickel mirror and cabinet of the same finish (mirror or part mirrow and wood). I do not want to go with wallpaper. I am trying to make it look a little more transitional and clean. Tiles are busy enough.

(I personally like the first mirror and first light, but your taste is not required to match! :)

I'm not clear if you're keeping the cabinet or not (it's beautiful, but not quite where you're headed), so I sort of ignored it in my suggestions. Just mirrors with more presence, and nickel lights to coordinate... You probably want some art over the toilet too.

Got It! That’s a cute cabinet & like the small lamp. If you’re wanting to lighten up what about a white cab the same color as crown molding & just a tad shorter & wider. Hang great dramatic art over cabinet & framed in silver metal. Keep the small lamp or find a like size one in silver tones. As for sconces, much daintier with light bulb part lower & light output both up & down. A more modern style too - I can’t suggest a specific one - way too many out there & don’t know the style of rooms around this powder room. The mirror size might be ok with lighter looking & lower sconces but I wouldn’t base sconce selection decision on the mirror since it can be replaced more easily. I still think the towel ring needs to be moved up quite a bit. The entire ring + some of towel should be above the tile.

Selecting a plain, shaded sconce will go a long way to improve everything in this room.

I like your mirror but I think a taller one would fit that space better.

The boxes for those sconces look very high so I would recommend a hanging sconce. The light within the sconce should be around face height (64-68" off the ground) so you'll have to see which ones work with your measurements.

I prefer warmer metals with that type tile but I saw that you like nickel. The Katie comes in nickel finish as well. I think you could also mix metals for more interest. (This is a little thing, but I would raise the towel bar so that the towel hangs slightly above the sink.)

@C Priday - @k8cd makes a good point about the wall height connections for the sconces. My guess is a measurement from them to the average point where a person’s face would be will help with winnowing down the ones that work. She agrees with me about the towel ring position too!
