I would remove the molding from the sides. Get a full glass storm door. I would actually do a white door. Don't add another color (brick, siding, trim, roof enough colors). Larger light and maybe one on the left also

Now that you've removed the columns, it has left an unattractive "line" down the brick. So, I'd probably add some white flat, wide trim (much like above the door) to the sides to cover those brick areas. Then, I'd take the decorative molding off, get a full-view storm door with charcoal-toned aluminum, and paint your front door black. While it appears your bushes are ready for winter, it also seems like your landscape could use some "beefing" up - more than anything, I think new landscaping will really improve the curb appeal of your home.

I would replace the trim that was removed. Because the raw edge of the siding in the recess is exposed. Because it will cover up the lines of caulk & paint that remain from removing the old trim. Because it will give the entry more bulk & importance. Also would remove the faux panel moulding in the recess.

Also, hang a wreath on the outside of the storm door to help bring the door forward visually.
