What does it smell like?

Euthamia leptocephala (Bushy Goldentop), thanks!! Apparently, another pollinator magnet like Baccharis neglecta, Gregg's Mistflower, Ageratina havanensis, and other flowers with similarly-shaped, little blooms.

And yes, it has a fairly strong, very sweet fragrance! Almost like a Paperwhite, but not quite as cloying. So, odd that this trait doesn't seem to be listed in any of its current descriptions, though! I'd imagine a full-grown bush of this would produce a pretty strong scent!

The fragrance is mentioned in some descriptions. Im not really sure what paperwhites smell like either? I recognized it as a Euthamia species and searched genus Euthamia for Texas Hill Coutry on i naturalist, and bingo. I dont think any Baccharis species and Gregg's Mistflower are hardy here in northern Illinois. A lot of native plant enthusiasts grow the hardier mistflower/perennial Ageratum here, even though it doesn't naturally range this far north. I have tried growing Brickellia eupatoroides a couple times with no luck. I haven't given up.

Houzz won't allow me to edit anymore. Just wanted to mention that Gregg's Mistflower is now Conoclinium greggii. There's a beautiful Brickellia species in the south, with mauve colored blooms called Brickellia cordifolia. The mistflower being grown up here is Conoclinium coelistinum.
