The leaves are trifoliate, so no, not Chinese Tallow.

Could it be Amphicarpaea or an Erythrina?

Erythrina herbacea ?

That would be the native one like that.

This is my Amphicaraea bracteata. The leaves are very similar to Erythrina herbacea, but the middle leaflet of the Erythrina is more hastately lobed.

If it's a bush with erect stems then it has to be Erythrina herbacea.

Thanks for that info on your garden. Erythrinas are something I am foolishly obsessed with establishing. Fascinating to me that the hybrid has done better for you. Did it make it through the polar vortex winters? What is the lowest it has seen?

Both will get through milder winters here, but will be killed off by colder ones. What I've referred to in various posts as my 'south facing slope' is still clay loam; I think for my next stab at one, I will mound some sand along that slope. I think it's not the cold killing them per se, for me, but the cold + wet.

OK, so I went back and was actually able to get a pic of some blooms...which seems to confirm it as native Erythrina herbacea (Coralbean)?
