I'd remove the floating shelves in the corner. thats a better spot for a light sconce and maybe artwork. I'd put the floating shelves where you have the glass cabinet. I'd put the glass doored cabinet above the ?entertainment setup w the under counter fridge etc..... on other side of doorway. You can use deeper shelves for easy to reach/frequent use things in that deeper spot. The corner just looks so conducive for something more aesthetic....get to that when it suits you ......., but a nice sconce light might be worth it , w electrical happenng currently....... Good Luck.

Oh my gosh!! That’s a great idea! That would balance it out I think- thanks!

What type of light sconce are you thinking??

    I like herbflavors ideas!

I too would move the glass front cabinets above the bar area with the wine fridge for displaying pretty glassware.

I would then do the open wood shelves in place of the glass cabinet.

Nice kitchen btw! May I make one suggestion though? I would flip the DW to the right side of the sink so that way it is out of the prep zone between the sink and stove.

Ohhhh wow on the dw! We went back and forth on the dw to the right or left. The microwave is across from it now in the island but we’re thinking on moving it to the middle of the island. The only thing is it blocks the walking path and then the garbage drawer would move to the island so hmm

Regarding Rebunky's idea about moving the DW. After doing that, I'd make the corner there a blind corner and extend the cabinets WITH drawers to the corner. You'll get more storage that way than with a lazy susan and narrower cabinets on either side.

What I don't like is that your island is a partial barrier between the fridge and sink and also that everytime you get something out of the fridge you are crossing past the cooking zone.

It also looks like your island seating depth isn't deep enough. To sit comfortably at an island at counter height, you really need a minimum of 15" of depth for knees.

Can you post your 2D floor plan with all dimensions?

Ohh! Yes please see the details. Not sure what the counter overhang is. Can you tell from this?
