when plants.. how.. how do you water... any severe weather this year.. like drought???

do you think it put out enough seed.. lol .. perhaps you might want to prune out all of that.. 'clean up' the plant as one might say ....

surely you dont need 2 million more or those in the yard ... . and everywhere a bird can fly and shoot them out their butts ...

Bad one? Depends on where you live. Around here (northern VA), japonicum will come up here and there, but is usually not too much of a problem because of rabbits as well as cold spells which can kill the seedlings sometimes.

Ligustrum lucidum can be invasive in warmer climates as well.

I think L. sinense can be quite invasive in my region.

Isn’t this one of the “stinky” privets that smells like cat pee? My privets do not have berries? But this one certainly does. I just read that the Japonica variety does produce berries and seeds, however. My advice? If this one does die, buy a different, better variety to replace it!

All privets flower and all produce berries, providing they are not tightly pruned and have adequate growing conditions. Perception of the smell is variable. Personally I dislike all the species I've come across.

I think I have mixed up privets and boxwoods! which are a different but similar genus.
