Neither. Keep the door in the same spot as you have in the first picture, but put the hinge on the other side. The door should be opposite the shower head. Ask your plumber if the valve to turn the shower on can be relocated to the wall directly in front of the door so you don't have to get wet turning on the shower.

Alternatively, you could get sliding glass shower doors.

I have a small shower and I chose the door to swing both ways. There is collision potential when both the entry door and shower door are partially open. And if I want to retrieve something from the shower niche, opposite the door, it is easier to push the door in, half-step in the shower and grab.

I think you would definitely want a outward swing door for cleaning purposes.

My shower has the door on the left with the toilet across from it. I want to be able to reach in and turn on the water without getting soaked with cold water. In yours, if the door was on the right that's what would happen. I recently stayed at a friend's house where the shower is like that and did not care for it. Sliding doors would also be a good choice in your case. Code usually requires the door to open out so if someone had a medical emergency they wouldn't block the door from opening.

Where are you going to have your towels hanging? I would want to be able to reach a towel without having to go around a door.

Is this a final layout? Did you think about switching the shower and the vanity? And maybe doing a pocket door? The vanity would be about the same size but the shower could be bigger to get a little more elbow room.

A bypass door takes up no floor space and can support a towel bar on each side, one inside and one outside.

Can someone explain to me why I am not seeing the photos that the original posters are posting?

I like the valves on the wall opposite the shower head and the door on the side where the valves are so you can turn the shower on without gettin to the shower .So #1 if sliding doors is not an otption but the valves have to be there and you do not show that part . Ust hooks not towel bars and have then on the solid wall of the shower by the entry door.

Not true at all, 3/8" glass would be fine for frameless hinged off a fixed panel.

I agree with the first photo but the hinge on the opposite side. Then you could reach around the corner for your towel bar or hooks, placed behind the bathroom door.

To answer my question a little bit, the photos show up when I log into the Houzz website. But they don’t show up on the Houzz app on my iPad. this would explain so much, about why comments sometimes don’t make sense to me.

A better option than either one shown is to put the door in the middle, hinged on the left, a hook at the end of the wing wall easily reached from inside the shower.
