open space suggestions for living and dining room

Hi,
We are in the middle of a remodel and are trying to figure the placement for the lights and the chandelier along with the fan. We are so lost and may have overstepped our ideas

Can someone smart enough here recommend me a layout.

We were looking to add the living room by the window and have the dining area where the sink is.

Measurements:

Width - (back wall)- 279 inches
length - 174 inches to the walkway

We just need a living space the dining space but having to redo the lights to match this space we need to figure out the living space for these rooms. Any advice ? Adding photos for reference.

We need a to scale floor plan of the whole area Do it on graph paper it makes scaled drawings easier. Every window , doorway where those lead all easy to read Every measurement of every wall clearly marked . Post here in jpeg format in a comment DO NOT start another post . BTW did you have an engineer tell you you could remove that wall I am betting not .

The removed wall area might need a supporting beam going across to keep the structure sound

Here’s a start to laying out the furniture. Chandelier is centered with window and doorway, and fan is centered over coffee table. Two lamps on console behind couch. Both areas are defined by 8 x 10 rugs.

Thank you @ffpalms, thats pretty much what we were going for but weren’t able to determine the current measurements for the fan and the chandelier we had an idea and estimated a rough center but we marked it it just did not feel centered. You drew that out so fast is there a software I could use to do the same ? Appreciate the feedback.

@Patricia, thank you for your feedback, yes that was from a Load bearing wall company that removed the wall and we are pending an engineering report back from them did not want to go without that the beams were the same direction as the wall so don’t think it was but rather be safe than sorry.

I will try and figure out how to do that, not savy with this and asking the General contractor to figure out the best spot but he is saying its upto us as to where we want it… so wasnt sure other than having a general idea for the layout.

I’m sure there are better apps for layouts than the drawing app I use (Adobe Fresco). I have saved room layouts in a Houzz idea book that I can layer over the grid.
