The whole couch doesn’t need to sit on it, you can just have the front legs. Best way to figure it out is to sketch a floor plan (on graph paper or use a free online version). A rug is a good way to define a conversation area for your furniture. Do you have other furniture, such as chairs, end tables, coffee tables, etc.? Rugs are also a good way to bring in accent colors. That one just repeats the gray in the floor. It’s neutral enough but if it were me, I’d look to bring some warm colors in.

I also don't feel like the placement is much of an issue the gray color of it just doesn't seem like the best option. Do you think you could look at some other options. However if you love the rug itself it's your home so it absolutely your choice.

I love this app and all the insight!!!!! I Def don't want to keep the couch but have not got a new one and the rug was a hammy down lol.

I do want to redo/update this space but have a hard time seeing the full picture on what to do.

I do love a less busy look.
