My way of doing this (I'm not a decorator) would be to go antiquing. Look for things that speak to you as far as art for the wall, fabrics, baskets, natural woods. Herbs in pots in the window. You can also go to Target, which has a lot of farmhouse style decor.

I would begin by removing a couple of accessories. The sunset throw pillows on your couch have a modern/abstract style, which is going to war with homey farmhouse furnishings. You'd get more of a farmhouse feel from something like gingham or ticking. The orange-brown color in those pillows and in the fringed throw on the couch also feels more western/desert than farmhouse, and while it picks up the same color in your rug, the room would feel less "western" if you emphasized the creams and grays rather than the burnt sienna.

Some candles or lamps and some farmhouse art on the walls, especially over the couch, would make a huge difference. There's a store called Antique Farmhouse (https://www.antiquefarmhouse.com/) that sells lots of affordable farmhouse decor, and even if you don't see something there you'd like to buy, the staging of their merchandise could provide some ideas.

I don't see anything country/western in your room. The TV stand and coffee table are someone's idea of farmhouse, I suppose. The rug is definitely not farmhouse, or country and western. Sorry, I don't know how you're going to obtain a farmhouse look with those stark black cabinets.

I did remove the pillows and throw blanket recently. I’m definitely considering getting different rugs too. The cabinets could always be painted, but I don’t mind the dark color. I suppose if I got different rugs, I could go more modern farm house/black and white type. I appreciate all the comments!

You might try looking at modern farmhouse rather than classic farmhouse.

Yes! It’s seeming I’m leaning towards modern farm house but got a little lost along the way haha. I’ve never decorated before, so it’s definitely a learning experience.
