Do you really need a fan? If so, I think I'd keep it ceiling-colored or otherwise light, both to match your chandelier and also just to be less dominant in the room.

If you're replacing the current chandelier with the one pictured, that's fine but it's in an odd location to me. Looks like it should hang over a table. I'd turn the couch to look out the sliders. I like the first Monte Carlo and think it would look good with the dark coffee table and would not interfere with that chandelier. Do I assume you're hanging the fan in the coffered ceiling in front of the couch?

I also love Big Ass fans. Similar in style to the Monte Carlo.

We need to furnish the entire house, so that awful current "chandelier" needs to go. There will be a round table and chairs under it. The fan goes in the coffered ceiling, and I have a fancy wood -backed chair to go perpendicular to the couch. Rug later too. So you think that big wood fan will work with the white ish chandelier?

I would go with a white fan. The chandelier is light and pretty and you don’t want a big dark thing up on the ceiling as well. With high ceilings, you want people to feel the spacious ness, not be constantly looking up.

Agree with Hallett. Functional and unobtrusive should be what you're after. Don't make it a focal point. It should blend in.

The coffee table seems out of place with the items you have selected so far.

I'm trying to go for a British Colonial/Key West type style.

We have this chair coming, with an offwhite and putty subtle leopard print on it (vs the picture from the store that I have below), and then these island stools with a plain coordinating fabric that coordinates with the couch pillows (not the picture from the store, below). Would I be better served replacing the chandelier with a simple black iron chandelier instead of the antiqued white one?

Can you wait to decide on the chandelier until more of the space is put together? I think it would be easier to know what works -

Perhaps that's my issue too. Right now, I'm looking at just builder-style fixtures, and trying to make it something, without being able to visualize, as the furniture isn't even there yet! :)

Just Google search pineapple chandelier. Many are vintage pieces.

That fan you have pictured - we have it and love it. Quality is great. It is very quiet and moves air well. It comes with a light option as well.

BUT, since others here are recommending white - did you know it comes in white too? Lots of colour choices available.
