Maybe a frame TV that displays artwork in its down time? I put a niche behind mine and it can pull out on a recessed arm, turning almost 90 degrees.

I agree, place the sofa facing the sliders, then possibly two chairs facing the fireplace. The TV where Paul has placed it. Even without an arm you can watch it from the chairs.

Right or left of the fireplace you have two perfect options ready and waiting. I would choose right due to glare, space and under the guise of minimalizing the impact of a TV in the space but either will do the job nicely. Buying furniture that repeats what's already there doesn't make sense to me.

I like what Paul is suggesting- and if you have a football fan in the house you can do 2 matching Frame TVs - one for each side of the FP😁

Why don't you move in first.

Gazing out to the view is nice of course.......but there's no view in darkness and you can do that from a sofa OR a chair. When do you tend to watch tv?

Get in, draw and measure the room. Plan a rug,the seating and where you might like the tv "you don't watch all that much"

Beautiful room, but difficult for TV placement (as you know ☺️). I’d put TV to the right of the fireplace, probably on a swivel of some sort. However, depending on time of day you’ll get glare from somewhere. For me, with vision issues, any glare is a dealbreaker but you may be ok with shades or other nice window coverings to help during glare times. Congrats- looks like a lovely home!

A frame tv,or an app from your phone is not meant to "FOOL" anyone! It is meant to attractively avoid an ugly and gigantic black hole in your wall.

That is its only purpose.

If you want the experience of a large format screen 80”, then the wall on the RH side is your only location for a TV

Float one on a TV arm in the space to the left of the fireplace. Extend it out and angle it towards your new sofa placement as done below. I presume that you do not want a gigantic TV seeing as you don't watch often.

How do you envision the room being used? Is a sofa and 2 or 3 chairs the right furniture for how you use the space? You are focusing on how to place a TV in the space, but saying that you seldom watch tv, so why focus on the activity you are not doing instead of focusing on what you are doing.

I know an elderly couple that has a very small living room and found they either watched TV or visited with guests, but generally didn't do both at the same time. They placed the TV over the sofa with their two recliners facing the sofa. It is not conventional, but is what worked best for them.

That's an excellent option! above. First, you make your plan for seating...right after you get into the house.

No fire while watching TV with that option tho... unless you are watching "Backdraft".

It looks like you're best option, if you're going for a large screen TV, would be to place the TV on the blank wall to the right of the built-ins. However if you're looking at a small TV, you could easily place the TV in one of the two nooks on either side of the fireplace. Maybe if you already know what furniture you'll have, that could help you decide the layout, and then you can decide what works TV wise after.

We might recommend trying the TV on the big empty wall to the right of the fireplace. Look at placing it on an articulating arm so that you can easily pull it off the wall and adjust it for your viewing and however you end up doing the furniture layout.
