The view from the dining room to the front door is the problem with all the doors, openings and angles. I'd add a display bookcase.

A ray of sunshine!

^ agree with Celery, fabulous art for sure - I would also get a more interesting rug -

done well, both art and nice rugs are $$$$$ so just do it a bit at a time

I'd change to large art over sideboard.

Also think more structured taller drapes would add drama. The tab tops are casual.

A huge piece of modern art instead of that mirror Waht is that in the back corner?

I would use modern sculpture, modern art and replace the curtains with solar shades.

You already have a modern feel, so not sure what exactly you are considering. Ways to make more impactful: Connect the foyer and dining room with color. Add large modern art/bench in foyer and large art over console (with pottery). A geometric rug would be stunning if it pulls everything together. A more modern chandelier would also be a nice addition.

Completely agree that replacing the mirror with some art would help add interest to the room. It might be nice to bring some more color into the room with the art.

While I like your chandelier, I think a bold linear chandelier in a different finish could add some more drama. Right now the silver seems to fade into the background because of the pale gray walls.

You might also try putting some interesting table lamps on the sideboard.

I also really like P Banos suggestion for taller more structured drapes.

I love that ”ray of sunshine” idea from Paul F. It accentuates the height and produces a beautiful triangle shape that could be echoed in a statement rug.

@ffpalms Nice idea! You cropped out the other flooring, but there are warm color angles in it.

Yes, I missed that tie-in to the angles. All the more reason to paint that portion of ceiling and wall.

I'd look at removing the mirror, replacing with artwork, getting a new rug, and some plants. Here are some dining room ideas that might help you a little more.
