Gluing it down will allow you to get away with more flatness errors. But, you will need to use a heavier glue application. Usually a moisture barrier rated trowel. I personally prefer gluing.

i can't speak to that particular brand but our engineered hardwood floor is floated and we love it! We have felt padding under it and although it doesn't noticeably deflect it feels softer than tile.

Under questions.-

Specs state: “install with a nail- or staple-down, glue-down, or floating method”. There are no instructions for float method. Where can I find that?Keith on July 27, 2023

The specs don't tell you the veneer thickness or what the core material is made of.

Here's another product. Do some tests.

It a regular tongue and groove locking system. you will need to glue the tongue and groove.

HU-117805425, do you have some info on the quality of the floor? It has aluminum oxide coating, 2mm wear layer, no MDF, 4 layers of ply under the wear layer, with a couple of thick wood layers in there.

If you don't mind the slight bouncy feel and added clicking sound when walked on with hard sole shoes, go for the floating. Just make sure you're using one of the denser underlayments that reduce noise. The floating floor will be softer to walk on, which is preferable to people with joint issues.

The glued floor will be quieter to walk on and feel more solid but will cost more to remove in the future. As far as quality goes, this is a relatively inexpensive product that can likely never be resanded, but treated and maintained properly it could give you 20 years of service.
