Suggest looking on Houzz and Pinterest at Scandi living rooms for inspiration, as “soft“ can be achieved with many neutrals. While considering, note what furniture/accessories are used, as it’s important to think big picture and have a plan. For instance, the large wall needs something and I would build from there inspirational wise, both for style and color.

I think you need both art and texture for sure. I love shag rugs for texture and also in a big space they help with sound absorbtion. The TV stand seems to be out of place it is quite rustic . I like the idea of the wood but just more refined .I would begin with a large piece of art on that bare wall and remove those things from that odd shelving . I do not like the blinds and if you need to control light and heat solar shades are perfect they do that and allow you to keep the view and have daytime privacy then for night time add some drapes in a color close to the wall color .You might want to check out besta from Ikea for that TV wall it allows you to have the TV a bit of storage and some display . You really need lighting in that space too

I don't think your room is arranged correctly for starters. I would place the TV on the far wall and increase the screen size so everything in the room is appropriately sized.

Nothing wrong with monochromatic room provided black is added to heighten the drama.

Or you could add color with the art and accessories for the room.

You have a Rolls Royce sofa sectional and a Yugo cabinet for under the TV. They don't work together.
