Please provide an overall photo of the room so we can see how the seating interacts with the TV. I don't think picture molding is the solution in this case. Who sits down to take a photo??

You're right with needing a wider console for under the TV, I would start there. I wouldn't do trim moulding on the TV wall because it's really not the wall to call attention to vs the fireplace. Have you tried using the artwork over the sofa above the fireplace? The clock just seems wrong. It's a pretty space in the making!

The height of the ceiling doesn’t have much to do with decorating your tv wall. You don’t need to do anything with walls above 9’ or so, which is typical viewing height.

And I agree the ladder thingie doesn’t belong. It’s out of scale with the room - the same reason that your tv console isn’t suitable.

Yes to Bev layout, and would be nice if you clarify your palette ? I don't understand the rug with the wall color, and forgive me for saying this:

A chaise sectional is THE most limiting selection one can make for any flexibility in room/furniture arranging. It is a very high price to pay to get a corner and one person elevates feet.

Add some harmony in color with a new rug and couch when you are able, get a coffee table, and add another chair.

The space feel disjointed, and not as cozy as could be, or probably even what you'd truly want.: )

Lower the art over the sofa, and when able? anything but a clock over the fire.

I agree with Jan about the color palette. Let's just see how different your room could look with the right color rug that complements your wall paint color. I worked to select a rug that picks up the color of your walls and the brown tones of your FP and the blinds on the windows.

You can see that straight blue in a rug doesn't work as well in the room.

Thinking about this Ikea unit while keeping the tv wall mounted.

Thanks to everyone for your comments. We went with the media center in the photo. Plan to put a tall plant on the left side where the outlet shows. Thinking about sconces on the wall flanking the TV?

No to the sconces. No little foo-foo decor.

Easy other items as others have mentioned-lower the art over the couch and start shopping for art over the fireplace. I would also bring the chair that's in the corner into the room a bit more.

If you decide to go with picture molding, you might find this photo helpful. It looks like the furniture was positioned first, then the molding was designed to complement it.

How far from TV is the sectional? It looks too far back , like 10 ft or so, for good viewing, but could just be camera angle. Depending on actual room dimensions, would you be able to float it closer while leaving enough room to walk behind, and not block fireplace too much, or is space too tight for that?
