Removing large wall-leaving huge gap in vinyl flooring

My kitchen has a raised bar...it does not extend from the counter, but instead there is a wall behind the base cabinets that supports the bar height counter (see pictures). The wall is large(~10"Dx110"L). I would like to remove the wall and just extend the countertop overhang from the height of the base cabinets (it will extend the depth and length of where the wall used to be).

Problem...

The entire floor (living room into kitchen) is all the same vinyl flooring. When I remove the wall, it will create a huge gap in the flooring. I'm not sure I can get the same flooring, and even if I can, I don't know if the gap can be filled in unnoticeably without removing most of the floor?? Does anyone have any clever ideas of how to "transition" what will now be visible from the living room?

it will of course be noticable, but a skilled carpenter can create a 'patch' that could look interesting. if you want it removed, you need to accept the consequences.

Have you checked to see if the plumbing and electrical run through the wall? We had the same thing and I had the raised area removed and the counter extended over the pony wall.

Do you need to remove the wall? Can you just cut it down to cabinet height and extend the countertop across the wall in to your living room area? That seems most simple to me.

Even if you found a box of matching material in the garage attic, it wouldn't have had the UV exposure the existing has, so it would take a while to match. Don't even think of trying to find a match from a different run; that's a fool's errand.

Cut it down to cabinet height or make contrast your friend.
