Design FAIL help - Coat Closet - strange vaulted ceiling piece - crown

Dear HOUZZ brain! Help please :)

We have a 70s split level home and when going up the stairs (right after entering the home you have to decide to go up or down, there is no space for coats at the main entry door) there is a coat closet.

To both sides of the coat closet you will see our main hallway which has cwien molding (I love that one, so it should stay).

But: the coat closet has a strange vaulted part of ceiling above it. We renovated a lot, but nothing is done yet with the coat closet as we are out of ideas.

- Should we close the space above the coat closet?

- Will it be dead space or how can we use it?

- What to do with the crown molding above the coat closet (different heights even if we close the space above the closet)?

- Which type of doors to use for the coat closet? Leave 3 doors or do 2 big ones?

Any ideas are welcome.....I have no further ideas for this space.

We just like to LEAVE it a coat closet as we need the storage.

Thank you so much!
