Sherry: Have got to agree on Buzz Saw being a good overall daylily. Another friend of mine on the west coast grows it and it does well for her too. With my intense heat it turns more white in the PM but still manages to retain that nice little gold edge. The effect is always pretty.

Buzz Saw:

This is the ultimate deep orange in my climate. All other comers must compete against it's vibrancy of color and it's ability to tolerate 100 degree temperatures without a blink:

Burning Inheritance:

A new addition last year, this orange sherbet colored daylily managed to perform well for a first year plant. We will see how it does this season.

B;ue Ocean Breeze was new last year. It rebloomed and has multiplied.

Blue Over You did not bloom as well last year as in previous years. It is a slow multiplier for me.

Blue Sky Blues was a new one that didn't do much in its first year.

Blue Swallowtail had excellent performance in a bad year for most of my daylilies.

Bluegrass Shadows had a nice rebloom in 2023.

Blushing Escapade was new and rebloomed each fan.

Boundary Born had very short scapes but intricate patterns last season.

Boundless Beauty looked more yellow in the cooler temps last season.

Browns Ferry Debutante did not do as well last year as in its first year.

Browns Ferry Queen of Hearts had its best year ever with bud counts in the high teens and rebloom.

Bubblegum Delicious only bloomed on a couple of fans.

Blue Eclipse had very short scapes last year.

Bite of the Apple got hit by deer on the original scapes and the rebloom scapes.

Bubblegum Queen sulked after being divided. I hope it will be back to its former glory this year.

Butterfly Moon did very well in its first year to bloom. It had bud counts in the mid teens and rebloomed.

Busy Being Fabulous got moved and only bloomed on one fan. It has multiplied in its new place though.

My favorites are Boy Crazy, great form and color, Burning Inheritance [wowwww, bright!], and Brown's Ferry Debutante has such nice coloration.

Beryl Quinn, great color, a bit unusual. Excellent bloomer every year.

Becky Lynn is always reliable. Has a dual season since a few years ago one half started blooming after the other half. I don't know why but I love it!

Burning Inheritance is a bright daylily. I also like Busy Being Fabulous.

Bedbug was new last spring. It was a tiny little thing. I can't wait to see what it does in 2024.

I don't love the color of Begin with a Bang, but it does bloom quite early.

Bengal Teeth had a good season.

Bird's Eye View is taking a while to grow into a clump.

I love the color contrast on Black Rock Spire.

You all know that Bodacious Bite is one of my favorites.

Brave Kemo Sabe is doing ok even though it is southern bred.

Breaking Lucky is a Canadian variety.

Brilliant Circle took a long time to get established, but now it is producing these lovely small flowers.

Broadway Mystic is a cute small-flowered daylily.

Bucklebury Ferry performed well this past season.

Busy as A is new this year. I am not sure I like the color.

I like the midrib and color on your pic of Beryl Quinn. Other photos on the database may not have captured the color as well. What daylilies has Tew hybridized other than the Ice Cream? I assume that Thomas Tew was named after him by Stamile.

Butter Cream --such wonderful texture

Bloom Where You Are Planted. Love the name. Occasionally, a few splotches.

Bored Housewife. While subpar this year (pic from 2022), it is vigorous and eye catching.

Belief in Vein. Some division actually seemed to help this one. Glad I kept it. Look at the branching.

Bryan's Song --I always admired this one at Ashwood, but will I change my mind now that I have it? That sometimes happens, as things don't always look the same as at the hybridizer's.

I have better pictures of Blue Pink Beauty from better years, but try to choose 2023 photos. I like it a lot, but Stamile pinks seem out of favor.

Blueberry Scone is a later Hanson.

Blue Healer, from Korth, is a big bloom. No fancy ruffling, but demands attention.

Butter Pecan has rich coloration in the morning.

Bellagio, out of Moldovan's Prince of Thieves, has strong color. Only in its second year, last year was not a good year to judge habit.

Birthday Wishes is a later bloomer. Striking, but last year was subpar. A little sprawling in habit.

I do have one picture of Bass Gibson from 2023. Flower form can sometimes be wonky, but it is obviously a classic. Shorter past year than normal.

I really like the looks of BLOOD OF THE MARTYRS, BLUSHING ESCAPADE and BLUEBERRY SCONE.

Here are the B's that I grow:

BEAUTY IN MOTION: This is very nice pink from Bud Bennett.

BORN TO BE AWESOME: It is a nice pink, I only wish it would reach its registered scape height.

BUTTER CREAM: A very good yellow.

BOUNDLESS BEAUTY: Nice big and ruffled flowers. An attention getter.

BIRTHDAY WISHES: My experience with this plant is different than Mantis'. It is a vigorous grower and tall. It bounces back from division quite well.

BO KNOWS: A smaller intro from Bud Bennett. Well budded and a front of the border plant.

BLUES IN THE NIGHT: Another Bennett intro. This one is out of Lavender Blue Baby.

BUDDY'S BLACK LADY

BELLE OF ASHWOOD: A very tailored bloom and very consistent.

BEST IN SHOW BETSY: It is a big flat diploid. The scapes are also rather tall.

BURTONSVILLE BLUSH: A very nice pink from Mr. Bennett.

BIT OF JAM: Another Bennett intro.

BETTY BENZ: This is a diploid and it has substance like plastic.

BASS GIBSON: Great plant. Vigorous and blooms over a long period of time.

BEAUTIFUL EDGINGS: A classic

BLESSED ART THOU: A great older Moldovan.

Maryl - Bite of the Apple is a highly saturated raspberry red.

David - Buddy's Black Lady, Burtonsville Blush and Best in Show Betsy are my favorites of yours.

Mantis - Blue Pink Beauty is lovely in that clump. I still like the Stamile pinks. Blueberry Scone is gorgeous.

Nancy - I do like the coloring on Brave Kemo Sabe and Black Rock Spire.

Mantis: Nice picture of Bored Housewife. Wish it were a Dormant. Bellagio has that wow color in your photo that made me look twice..... FYI: From what I understand Thomas Tew (yes, THAT daylily) only registered a few daylillies before moving on to other endeavors. As for Stamile pinks, I consider him the standard bearer of breeding a more true pink color for mass release. But of the many pinks of his that I have tried throughout the years none have been especially colorfast or even sunfast. This is ironic as he hybridized so many of them in the deep south..........David: speaking of pink, Burtonsville Blush is very pretty and I also like your Bela Lugosi (though it was another one that couldn't stand our heat)...........Debra: Thanks for the further comment on Bite of the Apple. Flowers wiz by quickly during the bloom season and I miss many during the first go around........Maryl

Blessed Art Thou and Belle of Ashwood are well captured by David. I think he uses an Olympus. Maryl, unfortunately, I think that Curt labels everything semi-evergreen. Salter did that too. In Curt's case, nearly all are hardy.

Blushing Escapade had lower bud count this year, but I did get this picture. I have not had rebloom for a few years.

Boss Lady also not great, but I did take this one pic. A friend near Lexington said that plentiful summer rain (before late August) saved his season. Not here. Also, bountiful rain in the Northeast.

Bob Marley was destroyed by thrips, which thrived in the mild winter and hot dry summer. As did aphids. Picture from 2022.

Blazing Saddles is among the few that did well this past summer. The tall scapes are typical of Hansen.

Big Sur is quite similar to Rose Masterpiece. Its blooms are more often perfect, but it is not as vigorous as Rose.

Bubblegum Twist has a winsome coloration, but its scape will win no prizes.

I forgot about my Blushing Escapade. It has a pretty form, but the color washed out in our heat. I think anywhere where summers aren't over 95-100 degrees on a regular basis will appreciate this one - which is where mine was shipped off to in the fall - a cooler climate. Here it is the beginning of July. Not bad really, just not distinctive in the glaring sunlight:

Mantis: interesting info on Hanson. I knew about Salter as I favor his daylilies. Burning Inheritance is a Salter daylily for instance and outside of loosing it during the arctic blast in 20/21, I've had it many many years with no problem...........Maryl

Maryl - It's too bad Blushing Escapade did not keep its color in your heat. I really like the flower, and since it didn't get that hot here last year, it held its color well.
