Try a tall set of wire or white painted wood shelves, about 36 or so inches wide to fit next to the shoes. Bolt the shelves to the wall for safety.

Google "6 foot tall shelves" for ideas and shopping.

I would do something like this

Obviously just the straight run - some storage on the bottom and open shelves on the top - or a mix of open and close.

That's valuable space there. You would be surprised how much you can store.

I am renovating my passthrough laundry/pantry from my garage to the kitchen.

As Jan said, measurements are key to creating the best solutions.

I am moving my doorways over so I can have a deeper space for the pantry.

I like adjustable shelving, especially in a pantry. Putting items of the same height on a shelf means minimal wasted space between shelves.

We have a small laundry room next to the kitchen, with shelves on the wall opposite the W/D. When we bought the house 2 years ago, those shelves were 7" deep - I immediately replaced them with 12" shelves, and now have a functional pantry, even though the shelves are only 29" wide.

There are wire shelves above the door for less-used stuff - you could do that on the wall you show, plus above the door (maybe even above the W/D, depending on what else is on that wall. You can also utilize the back of the door, with pockets for caps and mittens, cleaning supplies, hang a broom and dustpan - lots of options, depending on your needs.

You have valuable space to take advantage of for storage. Relocate the shoes and outerwear to the garage and get a wall mounted adjustable shelf system and set up your pantry. You can buy the number of shelves/drawers you want - for example, if you actually like having a trash can there, you can customize that section to accommodate it. Something like the Elfa system at The Container Store would work, they can even help you figure out the best configuration.

As for the deep cabinets, the steel metal, pull out cabinet organizers are game changers - they transform lower shelves to be far more functional. Rev-a-Shelf is well known but there are other brands. Just be sure to get a good quality that fully extend.
