Black and white are classic with brick. However, your skinny little shutters are totally out of scale, so those need to go. From there, you just need to decide about windows and trim together. Lemme try a couple mock-ups.

I thought black was going to be too harsh, but I rather like it. Made a stab at one shade of bronze, too, although it's a little warm -- didn't do the whole thing there, but you get the feel.

Anyway, food for thought!

Take a look at SW Urbane Bronze. It’s a great brownish-greyish color and it is softer than black. With bronze windows your garage door and front door can be painted that color. Looking at your brick close up, the black seems more harsh.

I vote for the bronze windows too.

Should I paint my columns a darker color as well?

Today I woke up thinking about maybe using one of the lighter grays from the garage to keep the balcony from turning into a black mass -- here I put it on the door frames there. While I was at it, I took a lighter gray and did the columns. A possibility?

Definitely like them darker over white. It’s going to be tricky finding right colors!

This color scheme looks good with my brick, but I don’t know exactly where to put the colors. I’ve got to paint my back siding as well and was thinking the medium gray would look nice.

Just make sure your gray doesn’t have a bluish or purplish undertone!

I like the bronze for the windows.

Bronze, not black (matches the brick better) and I would for sure lose the grids.

The cool grays may not work with the brick. That "sample" one isn't quite right.

I own a brick house, too and it is much harder to find the right colors for them than you'd think. I obsessed over which a roof shingle color, my front door color and which TimberTech brown for the deck.

I think the Urbane Bronze may be the answer.

I have a suggestion but do not want to chime in if you have purchased your new windows.

I just ordered the windows yesterday and went with Andersen Sandtone — kind of putty/gray color. I was afraid bronze would look too heavy and the off whites glaringly. What were you thinking? Would love your opinion regardless if it’s different!!

The Andersen Sandtone is very warm. I love love love bronze windows on tan or light homes, but when I stalked a home in my neighborhood with brick similar to mine with bronze windows, it just looked sad to me. I drove by a million times trying to like it in different lights and it was always too dark and gloomy. We live in Texas, 110° summers and my house faces WEST, ugh in the afternoon. I want to bring in bronze accents via railing or somewhere but with the afternoon sun I need larger areas like garage doors to be somewhat reflective. Just wish I could paint or limewash the darn brick and my troubles would be fewer!! Now I’m trying to settle on the paint.. I really appreciate the ideas and I’m looking for a bit darker paint for the columns and garage door, that’s still a bit reflective. I could maybe use bronze to frame garage, balcony railing and downspouts???

I feel like I’m disappointing my daughter and husband who both liked the bronze as well. Dear Lord I hope I haven’t made a mistake but I went with my gut and what I thought I’d be happiest with.

Also, this color is not same as small sample color above, different company.

The choice you made will absolutely work. Driving around was a good idea. It solidified your feelings about the bronze.

Just a warning- when you make big changes to a house, your first reaction is often negative (“What the heck did I just do?l) because your eyes are unfamiliar with the “new look”. Don’t freak out if you have this reaction at first. It’s also possible to fall in love with your new look the day it’s installed.
