Are you keeping the look of the room mcm? It was a custom vanity with matched wood detailing and hidden hinges- tres chic in its day. I think it could be easily repurposed in a period sensitive remodel and look great. It could equally look terrible if you are putting lots of modern trendy finishes with it.

Appreciate the feedback! One idea is white 36 x12 tiles in the shower surround and use small, square turquoise (glass or ceramic) tiles in the niche and possibly in a band around the shower. Turquoise tiles counter to ceiling as backsplash. Counter will be Quartz neutral white. Handles brushed copper or brass. Fixtures same. And have light fixtures that have more of a mcm vibe. We’ve also discussed marble shower surround and backsplash with neutral stone squares in niche. Floors tile 36 x 12 neutral or pattern, not sure.

Please no stripe accents in shower- those went away twenty years ago. Niches don’t need an accent either- that only looks good until you put soap and shampoo in them. If you want an accent tile the whole back wall in a color. Or a big rectangle.

Lol! Keep keep keep! Love it! Gloss it up, hardware change perhaps, but knobs in same position! On this vanity cabinetry, perhaps turquoise rock knobs? Keeping the tile size too perhaps? scale perfect as it. While I love marble, here, perhaps materials with more transparent, lighter veins — great, clean look!

Yep, you’re right about the stripe accent and this is why we need help LOL. Last bath remodel was 25 years ago in another house. Thanks, Elizabeth for the positives on the vanity. What Hallett said re the vanity is a good point and a reminder to look for ways to embrace the mcm in other finish/material choices. Agree on the small square tile as backsplash. Currently that small, square tile wraps around the shower, behind the toilet and is the backsplash. Looking for something easier to clean in the shower, but still would like to use them (backsplash?). Thinking it might look odd to go from the big shower tiles to the smaller tiles side by side. Another option 36 x 12 tiles in shower/rub surround, no tile behind toilet and then smaller squares as backsplash.

Finally done- - refinished and raised original vanity and kept light fixture. Considered mid-century tiles, but not in our budget. I think the Chloe worked out well as an alternative. Thank you all for your help!
