appears to be pine and abies or picea in there... did you harden it off to outside.. or just chuck it out the door??

if the pot is NOT in the sun.. leave it right there.. no need to screw around with the garage ..

its either zone proper or not.. and if not. then let it die right there ...

the trick in winter in our cold are.. is get ti dormant and keep it dormant.. and keeping a black pot out of winter sun is the definitive variable ... and dont let a warm zone person tell you otherwise...

again.. there are at lest 2 different needle patterns there.. so im not trusting your info source ...

Ken, I made one post in the tree forum about the care for the tree. Someone recommended I post it to conifers for the ID. Maybe I should have made the post asking just for the ID. The tree is potted and meant to be planted at some point. The long needle branches are just part of the arrangement for Christmas. I am sure when not frozen, I will be able to remove them.

Posting here I was hoping for an ID so I would know if this is something I can plant or perhaps give away to someone else who has the room. Sorry for the confusion. Maybe another pic would help. It’s quite frigid here and I haven’t watered to venture out to take the picture. 🥶🥶🥶

It gets teeny bit of sun when the sun is out. Next week we are expecting warmer temperatures but it’s often cloudy when it warms.

Definitely a type of spruce. Which species is uncertain to me.

Branches resemble P. Glauca.
