Your living room is serene with its light colors. You don't need a big black blobby outline on the wall. If you want drama, you can introduce it in other ways. Too many are jumping on the "paint it black" bandwagon.

It looks Navy on my screen and I kinda like it. I agree black is being overdone now.

No, because none of the your window are done that way. You want all your window and door frames and trim work to be the same.

I can't decide. Not sure I like the black but the white could be oomphed up a bit. I wonder if a softer color, more like your dining table might work? I'd be tempted to strip and stain them just to see. I'd probably either do that or paint them because if you decide you don't like it, it's a pretty easy job to repaint them back to white.

As the only French Doors, I think it's okay to paint the doors. We did this same treatment with ours --just as in your render...but not black.

I wouldnt. Doors and trim, should all be the same color. I do have black in my house, but, all my trim, and doors are black.

Please don't do it! The small touches of black in the room now are quite nice, but a black double door would be way too much. If you aren't happy with the look of that wall, I would suggest doing some landscaping to provide a focal point and to draw the eye through the doors to the outside. Your long fence would make a perfect backdrop for whatever plants you choose, and they would mirror the greens of your houseplants, making the room feel connected to the outdoors and much larger.

Our door to the outside is dark brown, because when I ordered it, I forgot to specify white as the interior color of the door (a bit of an oversimplification of the ). I personally don’t like the way it contrasts with the wall. - In your beautiful room, I think if you wanted a little bit more oomph, you could change out the drapes to a pattern that you love.

I found this pic and I really like the trim painted the same color as the door, too.

One black door??? NO and oh NO!!!! That makes no sense. If you go with black window trim and all the doors black as is a design choice some are making ok but ONE--JUST NO.

You don’t need a focal point on each wall. With your quiet colors and the dramatic shape of the house plants (Trees!!! Wow!) you will just force the eye too look at the doors instead of quietly traveling around the room. It’s a lovely room.🙂

No. This is my personal opinion, since you asked - your room is dull and lifeless and black is more so. The sample black door picture makes it look like the wrong doors were delivered.

It's a really pretty room, and I see the you have touches of black elsewhere. I could go either way, but I kind of like the black doors. They're a different "thing" than the windows so I don't think it's all or nothing.

I would keep it white. Mostly because you have another white door right there on the other side of the window. I wouldn't drag the black over to that other door, and I think one door being black and the other white would be sort of odd.

I painted my front door Chelsea Gray against a dove white wall and I am happy with it. So I vote to paint it! I also painted my mantel the same color so it would carry through the room.

I would paint it, but not black. Something that is less stark, but still picks out other colours in the room - maybe a gray or grayish blue?
