The sconce is 23in tall. My question is: Is there a "rule of thumb" for where a sconce flanking a window should be placed? Eye level?

The rule is to place them where they look, and function if that's important, the best.

Sconces will be on the two stone bump out sections each opposite the entry and on the windows to the far left.

I would think you would install that with about 2/3 of the scone above the window, but that may just be my opinion. Where is the electric wires? How are you going to go about installing this?

Wires are behind the stone and behind the brick at the moment. But we feel the placement is too high.
