What colors are in the art?

They're still boxed away somewhere, but silver and black. Here's a picture from my previous house. Not sure if you could see them well

I'm also not committed to that art. Completely willing to change it out to add color

what a lovely room!!! have you considered maybe 2 fans? one over the bed and one further away? it might circulate the air better in the large space. For a peaceful room maybe a shade of blue would be nice, but you said you don't want it to be gray, so I really don't know. My room is Navajo White and it looks great with wood floors.

Your room is large enough, I would go bronze, with a zen feel but add a soothing pop of color such as coral;)

i love industrial/modern/uncomplicated for bedrooms...I think a deep gray would be a nice statement. It would be a juxtaposition to the rustic wooden beam. That bronze+ coral is lovely too!

Your art looks like it will be too small to go behind the bed. You may want to find a larger piece of art and pull a color from that.

Maybe you could put the art (3 pictures) over that tall dresser? If it works with the new color;)

As far as wall color is concerned, try a taupe that has grey overtones, check out Benjamin Moore's color preview line, especially the OC colors, a color there might blend all the tones of your room, a soft green works well with silver and will work with wood too.

What are OC colors? I went to their website but did not find that term/category

they are a grouping of pastel tones, if you head out to a store that sells Benjamin Moore, they will have color samples on cards, for example, OC-44 Misty Air, is a soft grey-green color that might work

Don't forget the ceiling. To me a white ceiling looks like a sheet was thrown over the space. I actually have a grass cloth paper on my bedroom ceiling. Subtle, but adds a layer of interest and soft color. Would at least paint yours for a richer look.

A few interesting ceilings:

First move nite tanks closer to bed. Add panels on window ends with a roman shade under them. Leave top part. Large 45" sunburst over bed hang low. Your walls are gray now? If so leave them and just get windows done. Go a solid on panels and a print on shades. Pick accent color. Peacock wold be fun. Aff that to bedding on euro pillows, and a white fluffy comforter at foot of bed. Fold the gray top comforter back 1/3 of the way white sheets. Add some gray print toss pillows to finish look. You could hang a chandelier where fan is go a silver gray with some bling, sTay with drum style. If keeping a fan. Go brush nickel. You could paint ceiling a silver metallic which would be dramatic. Taller lamps brush nickel base. And black shades. I love the gray with dark wood, it does work. Lowes can offer a lot of help on paint.

The lamps you have could work change shades to black, and drum style, to update.

I was looking up peacock yesterday :) walls are dull and blah right now. Wanna send me an example of what you're thinking for windows?? I stink at window coverings and get overwhelmed

After looking at yr ceilings just go Roman shades no panels. Go on line to look at styles of roman. I like the flat type. Go a peacock color mixed with wall color. I think walls look blah because you have no window covers or accessories, art on walls. If you want to change it up. Go a latte on walls then use creams and yellow as accents.

Lol I asked about paint colors and here you guys are making me look into so many things that cost money haha. I just bought this house, which is double the sq footage as my previous house, so I don't have a whole lot of $$ to work with right now. However, if I get a pie, maybe I'll consider it. BTW, my husband would never allow a chandelier. He'd get a fan in literally every room and closet if it were solely up to him! That room gets hot, so a fan is necessary.

Josie, pies are easy. seriously. but it took me many tries to get it right and the way I wanted it, and after that it's a breeze. I don't quite do it the way they do on TV, just so you know :)

never heard of Elephant's Breath. I have to say it doesn't really evoke the kind of color I would dream of for my walls :) but I don't know much about paint :)

This is a start... Mirror isn't centered yet (hung on a nail I found in the wall to see what it looks like). I'll need new sham pillows and comforter. Thinking of plum for the walls? Mirror is plum with goldish tone

Tuck under cover on bed under your mattress all the way around. Fold back top 1/4 way dn. pillows you have fine move night stands closer to bed. Add panels to windows.

8x10 area rug put 4 ft under foot of bed. Go a print. In color.

Put bigger dresser where tall one is. Is there another wall tall one could go on? Get another chair like you have place together with small table between them. Add a small lamp. Behind bed a big art 40 x40 n bold colors. Over dresser a sunburst mirror, big 36" hang low.

Travis, took your advice about the mirror. Going with peacock colors in living room. Removed a couple pillows from my bed.

Place a rod over top of arch. Only cover ends. Measure how high that is. That's length you want.

A new bigger fan in stainless would be better bring it down some. It's too high now.

Panels on windows a black and white chevron print. A white throw on end of bed.

Paint wall behind bed a charcoal paint trim on windows and all doors white. Paint reminding walls a lighter gray. Use a bold accent color like yellow or peacock. In art, pillows and accessories. Place tall pots in a bold color to night stands and dresser top.
