Air in the pipes

After a power outage during which I forgot and used my water, I got a ton of air in my pipes. Maybe that's not how it happened, but the pipes in my house are knocking like crazy every time the furnace comes on.


Would this do anything to fix it?

Turn off the water main.
Turn on all the water taps starting nearest to the water main and ending farthest.
When the farthest faucet runs dry, I believe I should shut them all off and turn the main back on.
Maybe I should leave them all open and turn the main back on?

Or maybe this won't work at all.

    Perhaps you need to bleed the radiator as mentioned in the section, Hydronic Baseboard Heaters of this webpage. Search "bleed radiatior" for lots of articles and videos.
