Totally agree woth Jan…Dupont solid surface. We had the Glacier White in another home for years. Still looked new when we sold the house.

White corian is the perfect counter. Every fifth question on houzz is about how to modernize a kitchen suffering 1999 era granite. No one ever posts with the same question regarding white corian. Because whit corian never goes out of style.

I do kitchens and baths along with every other POSSIBLE thing you can stick in a house!!

What is in my kitchen? Bathroom? Corian, Cameo white. For eons and it looks like the day it was installed eons ago lol

Bonus? I like seeing crumbs, a make up splotch ...so I can be RID of it in the moment. : ) Confessed clean freak.

I have it in two of my bathrooms. I had it in a previous kitchen. You need someone who knows how to install it.

Our PO put in speckled Corian 25 years ago. Love it. It has an integrated white sink, I love that it’s integrated but wish it wasn’t a double, I’d love to be able to fit a roasting pan in it. The speckles I don’t mind except if I think I’m sweeping just a couple of cumbs and end up with a whole pile.

I would do Corian again.

Had it in a prior house, white in a bathroom and some speckled grey pattern called Pepper Ivory in the kitchen. Loved them, would have no reservations about using Corian again. Went with granite for my current house and like that too though.

We are about to start a gut remodel of our kitchen and we went with Corian Antarctica. It’s a white with whiter speckles that give it dimension. Can’t wait! I’ve had laminate, granite and quartz in various kitchen and each had their own problems. I’ve read just about every Corian thread on Houzz and no one complains about it- minus their sinks.

We’ve had Glacier White Corian in two different kitchens and love it. That said, make sure you live somewhere with someone skilled in fabrication and installation. We live in a mid-sized city, and when we had it done in early 2020, the only person left in the city who was certified in it was 86 years old. It was not well done and he could see that as he was installing, so he took it back to work on it. It was better once he returned it, but still not the way Corian should look.

So I’m 100% pro Corian, but only with the right people around for the job.

Does corian stains easily on the sink?

I am not a lover of quartz but Corian has really been around for avery long time and people who have it love it. I do agree no speckles or sparkles . The best about it for me is the ability to have repair done if needed . I would however never do a corian sink i still believe stainless will always be the best choice for sinks.

Installed Corian two years ago in my kitchen (one side Boos walnut top, the other side Corian). I love it so much we just installed it in our laundry room and made a table out of another slab.

It is the most forgiving material. I overnight stain tested red wine vinegar, red wine, egg yolk, pen, marker, ketchup, coffee. They all wiped off immediately. After owning marble in my last house, I'm thrilled to have a nearly zero maintenance surface in my kitchen.

No, but the sink may get abraded. If it does, the abrasions hold contamination which appear as a "stain". Solid surface sinks are easily refinished, even by an entry-level DIYer. You can make a "stained" Corian sink scream like new in 20 minutes or so with a small random orbital sander and a proper abrasive grit protocol. You can't screw it up either.

Obviously the deck was refinished too. Just as easily.

I'd not do a Corian sink, anywhere. Just under mount a nice stainless. : )

I too read many negatives about Corian sinks. I went with Corian countertops and under mount stainless Frank’s sinks in my kitchen and laundry. I wipe the counters daily with vinegar and water. Once when the Have A Nice Day transfered from a plastic bag to the corian, I lightly scrubbed it with Bon Ami. Came of easily.

This walnut top is across from the Corian. I think the surfaces mix nicely together. (Excuse the flooring experiment.)

Fine if you don't want or like a Corian sink. Seam undermount a Karran 540:

No clips, no straps, no caulk, no leaks, no caulk joints, no maintenance.

Best of both worlds.

I had the integrated Corian sink. I liked it. Tomato sauce or tea bags could stain it - but it always came right out with soft scrub. I never had anything actually stain it permanently.

I put it in a previous kitchen and loved it and miss it. I HOPE my kitchen remodel will happen this summer, and I will use Corian again. Much prefer it to granite or quartz.

What are the sheen choices for the plain white/light colors of Corian? Thanks.

Don't be surprised if it's the same price as quartz maybe more for some colors. I love solid white Corian too...and some of their marble looks. Keep in mind, the sheen wears off over time. So if it's shiny when first installed, that will dull over time. You can pay a fabricator to buff it to a shine again....or maybe try that DIY? I'm sure joe can explain more how that's done.

There is matte, semi-gloss, and gloss solid surface finishes and any range between. Darker colors really have to have semi-gloss or gloss finishes to look good.

Matte finishes actually get more shiney with use which makes the scratches show. Solid surface is easily refinished by a DIYer. Watch a couple YouTube videos; you can't screw it up.
