Yes, they look way too large for your space. Don't 'match' all the furniture, if you like something, find a style in the same finish in a size that suites the space. Yes, mirrors above.

too many pillows is too many pillows. The rug you chose is nice. I'd replace that ceiling fan/light, and add some table lamps and/or floor lamps to use instead of the overhead glare.

For nightstands, look at Celine, available in 28” or 21” width.

Maybe I'm not understanding the pictures of your room, is there a way to move the bed to the other longer wall? The window could be dealt with I'm sure.

@annetta I love celine, it is however out of stock and nightstands are backordered 3-4 months

@cubbby14 yes, layout is not ideal, but our house is older and the prvious owners did a remodel that was not ideal. Window cannot be moved or removed. It is our only natural light to our bedroom which j am not willing to give up. This is not our forever home so we are not trying to do anything major, just cosmetic.

I spy a vent on the floor that looks like the bed would cover it if moved to that long wall.

Do you prefer tables or cupboards for the bedside?

@cubby14: This is why she/he needs to read about why we need photos of all four walls of the entire room. Sometimes layout can fix the problem better than anything else. But we have no way of knowing since we weren't provided with a full view of the space. It's like having to wear blinders.

@housegal200 if you look through the photos again, you can see I already took your advice. You can visibly see all four walls in these photos. Layout cannot be changed, just looking for input of what shade the furniture should be is all. This is not our forever home, just temporarily trying to do the best with what we have on a minimal budget. With the amount of money weve already invested in this home, any more we put in will stay with this home. Money we invest in furniture can come with us after we build.

I love your floor, rug and bed. The bedding could be improved, though. The brown coverlet and long pillow has a sheen, and the harsh overhead light isn't helping. I don’t think the accent wall works in this room, but if you prefer not to paint and want to work with it, the wall vent should be painted the same color. I like the light and airy vibe in this inspiration photo. If you can do without a fan, a similar chandelier would look great in your room.

@ffpalms thank you for the helpful advice. I agree, accent wall is not ideal since its already small and not well lit. However I prefer not to paint at this time. Thank you for you input and beautiful inspiration photo.

You might consider looking into a chandelier instead of the fan, some artwork that will work in your space for above the headboard, and some thin nightstands that could work with the bed frame you have. Here are a few bedrooms we have done for clients that might give you more inspiration.
