I think landscaping could go a long way - what about a lovely ornamental tree for left of the entry?

Maybe extend the porch on both sides and add a porch swing or something on the left empty space.

Is it even a possibility to add a window upstairs?

Yea we installed landscaping in August, just waiting impatiently for it to grow up! An ornamental tree to the left would help fill the space, might make it feel more balanced.

You don't want symmetrical landscaping in front of an asymmetrical house. I'd get a tall columnar evergreen to put to the left of the door.

We’ve talked about an extended porch, like that idea. Think a window is possible, the problem is they did the existing window so far from the side of the house if we put in a window with same spacing as the others, it might be too close to the door. And it would still leave a bigger space on the left of that window

The picture of the envisioned porch helps. That could look good. And add the window upstairs.
Also thought of extending the front door landing, making it more pronounced. Make the downstairs window to left a big bay window. Adding the window upstairs

I would extend the porch to the left, centered between the windows on either side, then enlarge the gable above it.

Have a trellis fabricated that runs from the roofline to the ground and have a vine climb its way up. Could be clematis, bleeding heart, or just plain ivny

I like the idea of extending the porch to the left and enlarging the gable. My only reservation is the front door being off center of the gable.

Trellis idea is interesting. I worry about our ability/desire to keep it from growing all over our house, we’ve got a few older houses in the neighborhood covered in ivy

Clematis and Bleeding Heart should be cut at the base every year. They don’t adhere to brick like ivy

Instead of adding a window on the left, you could consider installing larger windows on both floors. Maybe double of what you have, or even a picture window.

What's your budget? The most budget friendly option is landscaping and patience. But without knowing your budget, hard to recommend the best solution.

I'm in agreement with Izeve - a set of multiple windows might be a good way to counterbalance the windows on the right side of your home. Might also suggest that you could build a larger entry element and add a porch to the left side that entends to the end of the front wall. That would certainly lessen the flatness of the fascade as well as provide you with some outdoor living space. Good luck!

You have a lovely home, but I fully understand wanting to create symmetry. Maybe you could add a porch with a roof and entry that will cover the empty space. talk to an architect or GC.. Depending on your budget you could really transform this house... If budget is tight you could consider a false chimney or area of stone that could hide the space.

But truth be told, it feels like the builder didn't finish this house... Or something was here before. What do the original house plans show? Was there once a portico of sorts or a two story porch? Maybe Stone work was here at one time but replaced Maybe there was ivy growing that created a beautiful cascade..... curios.

Perhaps a front portico like this. Notice the entry way is covering the asymmetry.
