Hosta Q 2023 ............................

Super Bowl will be hard for me this year. Everybody wearing red and white. I am not to much of a football fan until the last 3 games. That is when it gets good. I was pulling for the Chiefs but only because I am going to a SB party dressed as Taylor Swift. I love costume.

Today is Q. Not to many. Show anything you wish. Talk about anything. Dog , cat, Dr, Quinn, Medicine Woman. Or birds. lol

I hate computers. It is what I worked on for 36.5 years. A new power supply is on order and I will be back up. I am on my laptop and I have 2 tablets behind me. I came out easy on this. I keep 2 thumb drives and back up often. I had all my important files so I was relatively calm. Just the time did not suite me. So all I can say is back up your computers often and back up your backup. Nothing is forever in the computer world and I have fried backups too. That is why 2.

On to some Qs today:

And we loved it.

Have a great day everyone!

Paula, I am glad there are plans to repair your computer. We watched the Detroit Lions vrs San Francisco game yesterday. Too bad we couldn't stop the game at half time. Detroit gave us a good season to cheer about.

So many weird bounces in that second game yesterday. I love the aggressiveness of the Lion's coach. Would love to trade him for Tomlin.

    Been feeling like this lately:

Really looking forward to days like this:

But days like this 10 days ago help.

and finally, something to keep me growing through the winter - Nepenthes - a carnivorous pitcher plant.

Just the one Q for me, I always think of Josephine the member form Canada I believe, haven't seen her here for a couple years :( - A pic of what I do when I'm not gardening or fishing.

Had to go to three wheels last year due to physical limitations but it's all good.

Beth, you posted Queen Josephine twice, but the second post is not her. Wondering what it is?

Nice Qs some of you have, but none for me today.

Timing is everything made me laugh! And beautiful Grand Canyon pics.

I thought i was doing good to backup all my photos on an external drive. My newer computer recognized it once, and I can't get it to recognize it since then. All this technology makes me feel stupid when I can't figure it out!

My kitties include Max. Now an indoor cat since someone tried to grab him in October last year. He's still adjusting and looks a little like he feels he's in jail.

Molly is 10, and still full of mischief!

Kitty, who was meant to be treated like the royalty she is.

A small cattle drive we had to stop for. The dog was working hard.

Timing is everything! Beautiful plants, vistas, gardens, boat, bike, cattle drive and all the lovely felines. Those are very lucky cats Debra & Lisa. I so miss having a cat but my S-I-L is horribly allergic.

    Here is Callie yesterday

    Peren, Callie is beautiful!
Sandyslopes, love all your cats! Is Kitty a Siberian Forest Cat or Maine Coon? She’s gorgeous……
Ann, I love your fall Leaf photos…..very artistic!

Paula, we just missed each other at Poly! As a kid, we had orange groves taking up most of our block. Then the orange groves gave way to more houses, and the last time I visited my mom there were community gardens underneath the power lines. Some really impressive tall cactus that people use for recipes stood out to me.

Laurie, your dog Callie is such a cutie and looks like she's having fun in the snow! I love the coloring on her. How do you find dogs that are a match for you? I miss having a dog and can’t believe it’s been 10 years since my dog has been gone. But I’m lucky to have the kitties. If I had a barking dog, then I wouldn’t have been able to rescue Kitty and Max. I also have relatives allergic to cats, so they must stay in a hotel when they visit!

Debra, your cats are pretty, too! Kitty is a long-haired tortoiseshell. She’s very happy to be a pampered indoor cat again. She’s a lap kitty for me but has attitude with others.

Thank you Lisa, she is a great dog! I am partial to a Border Collie because of the temperament and intelligence but they are not for everyone. They need to be active or their intelligence can cause frustration for them. I would avoid a dog that is a digger by nature...many Terriers and Huskies just to name a couple. I have no desire for a guard dog but you might. If you are gone all day you would want a dog that is more laid back.

Here are some lists but you would need to cross reference for qualities you want in a companion. Until I had my first Border Collie I always believed a mutt is the best dog. In the sense of fewer health problems and cost I still do.

    Smartest dogs in descending order

    Quiet dogs

10 years is such a long time to be without a dog. I hope you decide to get one and one that is a perfect match for you!

Laurie, thanks for the list. Ten years went by so fast! I've always wanted a Shetland Sheepdog, a Sheltie. I like a lot of their qualities, but I don't find them very often around here, and I'm not sure if I have the right set up for one. They like to be active, too, and I don't know if I could provide enough exercise for one. And I don't have a fenced yard so one thing I don't miss is walking a dog three times a day no matter what the weather is. But I was very lucky to have two great dogs come my way, a German Shepherd mix, and then a Collie mix. I am partial to the herding breeds. I'm glad you've found good dogs for you. Callie looks like great company.
