Small tree suggestion for my terrace!

Hello,

I live in Miami and would love to have small trees on my terrace to create a small garden, possibly some shade from those trees but finding the right trees for Florida's climate and winds is a challenge. Ideally, I'd like trees that can withstand hurricanes. Could you pleae also recommend what kind of pots I should use to keep the trees stable?

My first thought is a small palm tree in a container. Group three together at various heights with heavy containers. I'm picturing what one would typically see around pool areas at resorts in Miami. Another idea is filling containers with bamboo plants.
