It would be best if you posted photos and a to scale plan. Will advise you that we design a minimum of 48" between an island and any surrounding cabinetry for easy passage.

Without pictures, you need about 2 ft per person , so a 6-seater island needs 12 ft around the sides and more if seating is only on one side. Using standard clearances, your 15 ft long side has 4 ft of counters and 7-8 ft of walkway on each side, leaving 3-4 ft in the middle. For the shorter side, your clearance would be 7-8 ft plus 2ft of cabinets, leaving 3-4ft. This seems like you could just barely get 6 people in if they sit on 3 sides, and you’ll essentially have a built in table instead of an island because there won’t be room for much else once you account for overhangs.

With out a floor plan, here is the basic math of it.

At 15 ft across, 180 - 26 -26 ( for counters on each side of the U ) = 128" . You will need about 48" of walking space ( possibly more depending on appliance locations ) 128 - 48 - 48 = 32" table.

So basically a narrow farm table would be your only option
