All walls. It doesn't look like the layout of your room would lend itself to only doing one wall as an accent. Sometimes if you only do one wall it looks like you cheaped out.

I would want to know more about how wide the "land" to the right is, as it's the crucial part of the mural, and be sure that if I started it on the toilet wall and wrapped it to the left that I could see the most detailed part of the mural. Then you could have the river under the window. That would all work. I personally would limit it to those two walls, and paint the other two walls to match the background of the wallpaper. (Not a pro.)

I think the pattern is too large for any of the walls in your bathroom. Maybe the wall behind the toilet if the pattern fits between those small pieces of wall.

I think your wallpaper image is too subtle and spread out to read well in this space. Any second place wallpaper choices you are looking at?

I’m struggling to figure out the walls in my small powder room (9’ long x 3’ wide with 10’ ceiling). My mural hunt has gotten very frustrating because of the room itself. We might be in the same boat. My decision is to do the same wall treatment in the entire room (probably a high wainscoting with a wallpaper above).

Some mural companies will work with the proportion of your room and adjust the design. Be aware of the lot complaints on websites that do this. Just sharing the information I have learned while trying to design my powder room.

This sort of paper would probably work better in a windowless powder room with less things obstructing parts of it, unless the paper comes with some companion paper with less going on. Many mural papers used to come with panels for around doors and windows that were relatively blank but matched up with the more scenic parts.

Look for subtle repetitive prints, not too large in scale. Use on all four wall surfaces. If you are only going to use on one surface, do behind the toilet as it will reflect in the vanity mirror. But, I'd paint the other walls a very saturated color - deep grey. Otherwise the wallpaper will feel lost and skimpy.

Thanks for all your insight everyone. I'm currently looking for other options. I like the look of all walls being wallpapered but budget is an issue. I also spent HOURS trying to remove the previous owners wallpaper they had up. I think they super glued the edges that may have been peeling soo needless to say I was very angry by the time I was done and don't want to have to go through that again

We just finished a big remodel…nothing wrong with a large scale pattern in a small room!

Paint the room a sensational color, all four walls. Add art!

This is not the place for your plan. Accent walls are not the best idea ANYWHERE, look very amateur nearly 100% of the time.

Do one thing, one color, one idea very well. It's always better than the cheat: )

A completely different paper ( you SIZE, prep the walls first and properly.) and it is all four walls or you paint.

Yours is not the statement paper that 'over-whelms' a room so no worries there. If you hang it you will have to be very intentional about where you start and where the far right of that paper hits, other wise no one will understand that it's a mural. Have we ever seen a mural applied to small walls with many obstructions?

My advise it that if there is any place for you to go wild it's a powder room.

I don't think the mural will work as you don't have enough wall space for it to show and be appreciated. If you want to wallpaper and you like that chinese art look, look for chinoiserie wallpaper. There's lots to choose from that have a smaller repeat pattern so it would show better in the small space.

But if you hated tearing down the wallpaper, you may prefer to just paint and then use art on the wall, and get a really nice light fixture. I painted my PR hemes orange and added art. It's a crazy color but in a small space, it's fun. And I added fun light fixtures too.

Two thoughts:

When I moved into my house, I had two bathrooms with old, yellowing wallpaper. I removed the first bathroom's wallpaper in about 10 minutes. Literally. I just worked a corner up, pulled, and the whole sheet came away. The second took me more than a week. The difference? The first bathroom's walls had been primed before the wallpaper went up -- do not skip the primer!

Have you ever tried stenciling? It takes forever, but it's easy and can give you the same effect as wallpaper -- but you can do it yourself (I personally cannot hang wallpaper), and you can do a room for $20-30.

A wall mural is a different concept than just plain wallpaper. Murals in powder rooms work when they cover all the walls. See below. The one you selected,.....well it's almost nothing. Don't be timid in powder rooms. It's where you can select items that are a bit more daring.

Beverly, those look nice, but she has a vanity that goes wall to wall, not an open pedestal sink, and she has a window and doorway interrupting the walls, and low ceiling, so I doubt a mural would work for her at all.

Annie, I agree, but she's the one that picked the mural. I'm trying to illustrate what type of bathroom you require to support a landscaping mural. She should stick to paint or wallpaper,.......all walls.

I'd do sconces on the side of a nice mirror

you could wallpaper the ceiling like they've done here. (at least scrape the ceiling)

This would look great on the ceiling (or behind the vanity) and work nicely w/the wood vanity and black top

or they have a peel and stick paper you could do on the wall. I'd go w/something bold and install a killer light

a nice tile? maybe a tile wainscot?

or, go bold w/colors and do a dark wainscot and trim, maybe a wallpaper around the room if you like

3/4 beadboard around the room.

Over the toilet I'd do some inset shelves since you have the bump out

you have a nice space to do something dramatic. go for it.

As mentioned above, a powder room is a place you can go really bold. I love this look and you can do it with paint. This is actually a wallpaper with a 7" stripe but if I ever dig my way out of a million other projects, I hope to do this in a small guest bath with paint. Maybe not the ceiling.

Confusing - You post a pic of wallpaper you want to use, but then made a later comment that you don't want to use wallpaper. Which is it? I think paint is by far a better option for this space if you are open to it.

Why? To save money? Powder rooms take so little wallpaper the best effect is if you install it on all walls in the powder room.
