Hello - what prep was done before the pavers were placed? Is anything under the pavers besides compacted earth? I believe in your previous post there was a walk through with the contractor? Are the pavers permeable and the water is coming through the soil?

They did a lot before actually laying the pavers. Leveling, layers of material (I’m clueless but looked like sand/maybe rock?) I have a feeling the polymeric sand might be failing in that specific spot? They never dry out!

December and January - winter - is hardly an ideal time to install pavers. Rainfall tends to be plentiful, temperatures low and the moisture content of the underlying soil and paver base high with little to no opportunity to dry out. That moisture will carry through or be wicked up by the porous pavers as well.

Depending on location, I would not be surprised if the contractor said to give it some time. Drier weather and higher temperatures should take care of it in a couple of months.

What's the sun exposure like in that spot? Does water pool there, or is it just a damp area? We sometimes see this if the contractor laid pavers over a concrete slab and there's nowhere for the water to go, but given that you indicated a gravel base I don't think that's the issue.

I would reach out to your installer and ask them to take a look. It may just be an issue where things need to dry out a bit as we head into spring (the fines in the gravel base hold way more water than you would expect), but better to let them put eyes on it.
