Design Dilemma Basements

We are buying a new home with a huge unfinished basement. Need ideas on how to maximize space. Need a bedroom, bathroom, teen play room, bar area with rec room for pool table and a lounge area.

A question (might depend on where you live). Is this a new construction house? Or new to you? Is the basement square footage included in the total square footage of the house?

Where I live, unfinished basements are not counted as "liveable" space for tax purposes. If we were to finish our basement, it would add about 1500 square feet to the total for our house (bumping if from around 2300 to 3800) and we would pay real estate tazes on the 3800.

Hence...the basement remains unfinished!

It's nice that you have space to add all the things you want, but just be prepared for the financial consequences.

Cannot make out the plan at all, and clicking on the picture actually makes the picture smaller.

A hand-drawn exact plan with dimensions, windows etc will be clearer and get you better results.
