Eliminate the distraction of all the different choices. Pick a single choice that is neither white nor wood, and extend the wood floor into the kitchen.

Thanks for the advice! Other half is adamant about having a different floor which I hate. Perhaps with enough encouragement here, they can be converted ;)

The floor in the kitchen does not look good next to the wood floor. Since the area is completely open, the floor should be the same in both spaces. What you're showing only works if the two spaces are separated by a cased opening or door. If the floor has to be different, then the cabinets should be all wood, no two tone.
