Light beeps when turned on

We have a new "fandalier" (light/fan) fixture from Wayfair, and when it's turned on via wall light switch it does a single, loud beep. I've seen in reviews of other Wayfair lights that they do this, so I think it might be a feature not a bug. How do I stop it? Will be slowly driven mad otherwise.
