We used their product to provide sun and (light) rain protection on an 8 ft x 32 ft pergola several years ago. Just know that their sales reps aren't designers, or at least the one I had wasn't. Because of the length we had to split the cover into two 8x16 sections. The motors were in the middle and the covers extended outwards. The issue, that our sales rep didn't tell us was an issue, was that because of how the motors sit there was a 12-18" gap between the panels. Directly over the outdoor dining table that the homeowner wanted protected from rain. I was left to scramble to figure out a solution. It wasn't the end of the world, just annoying.

The only other thing to know is that the rail system the cover opens and closes on has to be super rigid and precise. The original carpenter I hired for the install didn't get it right and so the shade wouldn't open all the way on one side. Luckily I got the brilliant idea (if I say so myself) to bring in a garage door company, figuring that someone who makes things slide smoothly on tracks every day could fix it, and they did.

All in all though I'm happy with the ShadeFX product. Just trust me when I say to include a designer who has used the product because there are some fussy little things that will drag out the install otherwise.

The project was 12-14 years ago so I have no idea what the cost was, but it was only a little more expensive than the systems that didn't offer rain protection. Re: labor, that's super dependent on your local market + the design of your structure, which I don't know anything about.
