Why the flying saucer 6" size?!

In order for anyone to give you a decent electrical plan, you need to provide a layout, flat, 2 dimensions of the kitchen. What is the island size, where is it in relation to dining table and perimeter?

Were you ASKED as to location and size of recessed?

Was this a refresh , new cabinets..what etc, or you painted existing cabinets and are a bit out of remodel pecking order?

You can scab in drywall to make a 6" opening a 4". It just takes time, and you only have 2 holes if changing. So if you are tossing around using 4", I would probably place a few more: 1 @ ref, 1 left of sink, 1 in corner, 1 over stove, 1 @ pantry. The 6" over sink can remain if switched separately, or made 4" if switched together.

The 6" near stove can be reused over the center of island. I think estimating from these photos the island is located close enough where when lighting the counters/cabs properly and the table chandelier that it only need the 1 recessed, higher lumen light centered.
